Really a shame since the only other way to play these games is Steams "Remastered" versions selling for 20$ minimum, which is kinda bs. Tried running the game in compatibility mode with W7, WVista and even W98 with forced 640x480 res, tried running it on Linux as well thinking it was just a problem with Windows period, no dice. Really don't feel like buying a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-15 year old PC just to play a game from my childhood, so if anybody finds a fix, much appreciated. Two years or so ago it worked just fine, same with Fallout NV lmao, but now it'll open a command line then crash. I was watching a Youtube video discussing some of the older NFS titles, so I felt like booting up the only one I could get my hands on via Steam. Hope it works for you all as it does for me now. No Changes at all to before starting the game. The Default settings were set at there lowest and 640x480 resolution thats why the game looked so crappy. THIS IS WHAT I DID, I just went and chose the Highest Settings Possibly and Turned on the Option for VSYNC.Īfter the above steps I was able to complete the Initial Starting of the game and now I can Play the game with no Crashing. Important, When you 1st get Control of the Car your being Chased in hit the ESC key on your keyboard this will give you the Options menu.Ĥ. Let the Game go thru its Intros (You cannot Exscape them)ģ. From within Steam GUI Click on the Need for Speed Undercover.Ģ. Now I have fixed it by doing the following stepsġ. Ok I have had the same problem at Crashing during the very 1st Chase go thru the Road Block then Intro for 2 sec and Crash.
